This CD is intended for you to use to get started on the Internet.
This CD contains:
- Software that you will need to access the Internet.
- Listing of Internet Service Providers (ISP) by area code (US) and by Country (Non-US)
- Listing of modem manufactures for your reference.
- A Beginner's Guide to Effective Email, to help you understand EMail.
- Zen and the Art of the Internet, an electronic book with Internet history and concepts.
- Software to "Surf" the Internet once you get connected.
- An HTML document that you can run once you are logged on to the Internet with links to the latest Internet technologies and more information about the Internet.
We have lisenced the Microsoft Internet Explorer for distribution on
our CD-ROM, currently the Windows 95 2.0 is the only version that is
available for distribution. The Microsoft Internet Explorer for
Macintosh and Windows 3.x is in beta testing right now and can be
downloaded at Microsoft's Web site. The address is
HTTP://WWW.MICROSOFT.COM.
Windows 95 users please note!
We have licensed the Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows 95 for
distibution on this CD-ROM! Microsoft Internet Explorer can be found in
the \WINDOWS\MSIE directory. We have included the Microsoft Internet
Explorer in 22 languages, read the file \WINDOWS\MSIE\MSIELIST.TXT for
the correct version. These are all self extracting archives, copy the
proper file tp your hard drive then double click on it to expand.
What you will need:
- A Macintosh computer with a 68040 processor or Windows 95, Windows 3.x computer with a 486SX or higher processor.
- Modem 14.4 minimum 28.8 recommended.
- Account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP). We have several hundred listed in the pocia.pdf file, you can searh that document by area code, ISP name or by country.
Getting started
Macintosh:
- Install ACROREAD.MAC found in the Mac folder. This program lets you read the .PDF files that are on this CD (as well as the Internet).
- Double click on any of the icons to read about that subject, search by keyword.
Windows 3.x
- Select Run from the Program Manager File Menu.
- Type D:\INSTALL ( where D is you CD-ROM drive letter) on the Command Line.
Press OK.
- Once installed, double click on the Install Acrobat Reader icon. You will need this software to read the materials on this CD.
- Double click on any of the icons to read about that subject, search by keyword.
Windows 95
- Select Run from theStart Menu.
- Type D:\INSTALL ( where D is you CD-ROM drive letter) on the Open Line.
Press OK.
- Once installed, double click on the Install Acrobat Reader icon. You will need this software to read the materials on this CD.
- Double click on any of the icons to read about that subject, search by keyword.
